Raised edges turn a flat woven panel into something that holds its contents, so these oval willow trays carry a round of drinks or a group of small objects without anything working its way off the side. The pair nests, with the small tray sitting inside the large one.
The woven edge stands up from the base rather than ending flush, a lip that stops glasses, jars, and loose keys from sliding over the side when the tray gets lifted. Willow gives that rim its springy, slightly uneven line, which is where the classic basketry character comes from.
The large tray measures 14.75 by 10.75 inches with 2.5 inch sides, the small one 12.75 by 8.5 inches with 2 inch sides, so the pair reduces to a single stack on a shelf. Separated, they cover two surfaces at once: a coffee table and an entry console, or a vanity and a nightstand.
Set empty, either tray works as the ground layer under a candle grouping, a stack of books, or a vase, defining a cluster so it looks composed rather than scattered. The natural willow tone carries coastal, beach, cottage, boho, and farmhouse rooms without competing with the objects placed on top.
