This basket is cut for shelves and cubbies: 16 inches wide, 13 deep, and 11 high, with tapered sides that let it settle into an opening rather than wedge against it. A metal frame holds the shape and two wood handles carry it across a room.
The footprint is sized to rest fully on a standard shelf without the front edge overhanging, and 11 inches of height keeps contents contained while leaving the opening reachable. Shoes, throw pillows, and folded blankets all fit that volume, and a closet, a bedroom, or a living room shelf takes it equally well.
Two wood handles are fixed to a metal frame that runs through the fabric, so the rim stays open and the basket keeps its rectangle whether it is full or nearly empty. Lifting by the handles rather than the cloth puts the load on that frame, which allows a heavy basket to travel between rooms.
The open top suits categories that get added to in ones and twos: electronic cords, discs, children's toys, spare cushions. Nothing needs uncovering first, and the taper means the basket can be drawn forward by a handle and pushed back into the same opening without catching on the shelf frame.
Six-piece black magnet set of four hinges and two handles that gives a steel garage door carriage-house detailing.
Six forest green fabric cubes with grommet pulls, each 11 inches square for standard cube shelving.
