Saucers and small plates stack up quickly after a holiday meal. This hard-sided chest takes as many as 12 of them, each up to 7 inches across, with felt protectors between faces and a window in the side to confirm which set is inside.
A felt protector separates each plate from the next, the layer that stops glaze from grinding against glaze every time the chest is moved. Damage usually starts with that contact, so the interlayers do more for a set of 12 saucers than the hard outer walls ever will.
Both handles are built to support up to 25 pounds, which covers a full load of 12 small plates with room to spare when the chest comes down from a top shelf. Hard sides hold that weight square, so the stack inside does not shift as the box travels between cupboard and table.
The red canvas body with green trim marks this out as the holiday set at a glance, useful in a cupboard full of identical neutral boxes. A viewing window adds the detail the color cannot, showing the pattern of the plates inside without the lid being lifted off first.
Six-piece black magnet set of four hinges and two handles that gives a steel garage door carriage-house detailing.
Six forest green fabric cubes with grommet pulls, each 11 inches square for standard cube shelving.
