All three cubes arrive folded and go together in one step: unfold the body and drop the fiberboard panel into the bottom. Each finished cube measures 10.5 by 10.5 inches with 11 inch sides, woven from bamboo reeds with a woodgrain texture, and the inside is lined with polypropylene.
The bottom is a separate fiberboard panel that drops in after the sides are unfolded, which is the whole assembly. Taking the panel out lets a cube collapse again for flat storage when the season for hats and gloves ends. It also means the floor of the cube is rigid, so books sit flat instead of sagging into a fabric bottom.
A polypropylene lining covers the inside face of the bamboo, so the cube can hold craft supplies or pantry items and still wipe clean. Bamboo reed on its own would trap crumbs between the splints. The lining also keeps sharp edges of the reed away from towels and gloves, which is the difference between a decorative box and one in daily use.
Buying the cubes as a set of three matters for a shelf, where mismatched boxes read as clutter: all three run 10.5 inches square by 11 tall, so they line up along a single run with even gaps. Bamboo reed keeps each one light enough to pull down one-handed, and the woodgrain texture reads as a flat neutral in a minimalist room.
