Catalog number ML-4112, a wide and low round woven from water hyacinth over a metal frame in brown. The X pattern is worked into the weave as decoration. Proportions are the point here: a large diameter with short walls, which is what makes it work on the floor beside a sofa.
Floor baskets fail when they are built like buckets: deep walls mean the bottom layer is unreachable and a folded blanket has to be rolled to go in. This one is drawn wide with short walls, so blankets stay folded flat and board games lie level. Looking down into it from standing height shows the whole contents at once.
The X figure is the one decorative move on an otherwise plain round, and it reads from across a room where a tight basketweave would register as texture. Brown hyacinth gives it enough tonal contrast to show without paint or stain. Because the weaving is done by hand over the metal frame, the crossings are not identical all the way around.
Hyacinth over a metal frame is not watertight, and the maker says so plainly: used as a planter it takes a liner or a nursery pot sitting inside. That is worth respecting, since water wicking into the fiber is what rots a woven basket from the base up. With a pot inside, the X weave hides the plastic rim and the basket keeps doing its decorative work.
