Solid wood handles at the ends are what make these trays carryable rather than merely decorative, so a loaded one can travel from kitchen to porch. Water hyacinth forms the body, the pair nests when idle, and the larger measures 15.75 by 9.75 inches.
The handles are cut from solid wood and fixed at both ends, giving a firm hold that a woven loop cannot match when a tray carries glasses or a loaded breakfast setup. The contrast between smooth timber and rough hyacinth also supplies the rustic read instead of a uniform woven look.
Both trays are rectangular with 3 inch sides, deep enough to contain bottles and jars and shallow enough to remain trays rather than baskets. When they are not in service the smaller one drops inside the larger, which keeps the set to a single footprint in a cupboard or on a sideboard.
Handwoven hyacinth varies in color and texture from piece to piece, a characteristic of the natural fiber that keeps the pair from looking manufactured. The warm neutral suits farmhouse, boho, coastal, and rustic lodge rooms, and it sits comfortably on a kitchen island, a bath counter, or an ottoman.
