Willow rods worked by hand give this oval basket a texture that molded plastic never manages. One long side curves to follow the forearm, so a full load rides against the hip on the way to the machine. Inside, a liner lifts out and launders whenever it needs it.
Natural willow is woven into an oval measuring 22.5 inches wide, 16 inches deep, and 13.5 inches high, with handles set into the rim. Tone and weave vary slightly from basket to basket, which is the nature of the material. The natural finish settles easily into coastal, country, and farmhouse rooms.
A polyester-cotton liner covers the interior so damp clothes never touch the willow and nothing snags on a woven edge. When it gets grubby it comes out, goes through the machine, and drops back in. That layer also lets the basket hold folded towels or yarn without small items slipping between the rods.
