Rather than leaving bags on display, this sorter puts laundry inside a cabinet: two shutter-front doors tilt out to receive clothes and swing shut over them. The smooth top works as a folding ledge at 28.75 inches, and wood knobs give the black frame a furniture look.
Each door pivots outward from the bottom, opening a bin that stays attached to the cabinet instead of a bag that has to be pulled free. A built-in stop catches the door at its open angle, so it holds position while clothes go in rather than dropping all the way down.
Horizontal slats across both doors mimic window shutters, and decorative inset panels run down the sides, details that let the piece pass as a low console in a hallway or bedroom. Wood knob handles break up the black finish with a warmer material at the point that gets touched most.
