Ventilated wire shelving is awkward to store small items on, since anything narrow falls through. This 15 by 16 inch basket mounts onto that shelving or onto a solid surface, adding a sliding tray only 5 inches high with a removable liner across the bottom.
Most pull-outs need a flat cabinet floor. This one is built to attach either to ventilated wire shelving of the kind found in pantries and closets or to standard cabinetry, with mounting hardware supplied. That flexibility puts a sliding tray into a closet never designed for drawers.
A PEVA liner sits in the base to catch drips from a leaking bottle or a sticky jar before they reach the shelf below. When it needs cleaning, the liner lifts straight out. That layer also stops small items from tipping through the openings in the tray.
Powder paint over steel gives a white finish that blends into a painted pantry rather than reflecting like chrome, and it resists chipping better than a sprayed coat. A height of just 5 inches leaves the shelf above almost untouched, while the frame still handles 33 pounds of cans and dry goods.
