Olive sits further from laundry-room white than most hampers dare, closer to a canvas tote than a bin, which is what lets this one stay visible in a dorm room or a studio apartment. Mesh walls keep the pile breathing, and the frame pops open to 25 inches.
A muted olive shell reads as fabric rather than equipment, which matters when a hamper has nowhere to hide in a single room. The darker tone also keeps marks and dust from showing the way a pale mesh does, so the basket still looks presentable after a semester of being dragged across a floor.
Lightweight mesh forms the sides, letting air pass through a load rather than sealing it in, which keeps a closed room from taking on the smell of damp towels waiting their turn. The same open weave keeps the whole basket light, so a full load lifts with less effort than a rigid plastic bin.
Standing 25 inches high on a 16-inch circle, the hamper reaches a height where clothes go in without bending, yet collapses to almost nothing once the laundry is done. Long double handles meet over the top of a full load, which is how a week of washing leaves the room in one trip.
