A springform metal ring runs the perimeter of this hamper, and it is the reason the whole basket snaps open and twists shut with no assembled parts at all. Blue polyester mesh lines the frame, holding a load of laundry across 16 inches of diameter and 25 inches of height.
The metal frame is sprung rather than jointed, so releasing it lets the hamper rise into a cylinder on its own and a twist folds it back into a flat coil. Nothing screws together and nothing comes loose over time, the practical advantage over a rigid basket that has to be stored at full size.
Polyester mesh in blue forms the walls, a synthetic that takes repeated loading without stretching out of shape and dries quickly if a wet towel rests against it. The cool blue tone works beside white appliances and tiled bathroom walls, where a warmer shade would look out of place among the fixtures.
A circular 16-inch footprint fits into the corner that a square hamper leaves half empty, and the 25-inch height carries a substantial load above it. Breathability and a small floor area together explain why this shape suits student rooms and apartments, where storage has to be justified by the inch.
Single large canvas tote, 22 inches wide, with a vinyl-coated interior and long reinforced handles that clear a shoulder.
Folding bamboo drying rack with 11 dowels and a flat shelf for sweaters, opening to 29.25 inches wide.
