Where pale fiber reads casual, a deep stained weave reads deliberate. This 18-inch piece sculpts water hyacinth around an iron frame into a tall hourglass, with a dense texture that catches shadow along every braid. It serves equally as a side table or an occasional seat.
The woven surface is finished dark and left heavily textured, so the relief of the braiding stands out rather than flattening into a single tone. That depth is what gives the piece its artisanal look from across a room, and the darker shade grounds a light sofa or a pale rug better than undyed fiber.
An iron frame underneath takes the structural load while the hyacinth is shaped around it, narrowing through the middle and flaring again at top and base. The result behaves like a small sculpture that happens to hold a lamp or a book, which is a different proposition from a purely functional stool.
Because the material is a natural plant fiber worked by hand, variations in color and texture are part of what shows up: no two bodies weave identically, and the stain settles differently along the braid. Rustic, bohemian, coastal, and eclectic rooms all absorb that irregularity as character rather than inconsistency.

Weathered multi-colored trunk, 29 inches long, closing with an anchor clasp over board games and blankets.
