A freestanding support post for households with no wall or fence to anchor a retractable clothesline. Three heavy-gauge galvanized sections join into an 85 inch pole measuring 2 inches square, and the kit includes a ground sleeve, plastic post cap, and the nuts and bolts for a receiver bracket. The bracket itself is separate.

Three Sections, Swaged Ends

The pole ships as three pieces whose ends are precision swaged, meaning each section is narrowed so the next slides over it in a tight overlap. That joint transfers load along the whole 85 inch column instead of concentrating it at a seam, which is what keeps a wind-loaded line from working the post loose.

Two-Inch Galvanized Steel

Heavy-gauge steel 2 inches across on each side carries the pull of a full clothesline, and the galvanized coating stands up to the rain, sprinklers, and freeze cycles that come with living outdoors year round. A plastic cap closes the top so water does not collect inside the hollow post.

Ground Sleeve Sets The Anchor

A ground sleeve comes with the pole and takes the base below grade, so the post is held by the earth rather than surface hardware. Set once, the sleeve also allows the pole to be pulled for winter or for a lawn cut, then dropped back into the same position without redoing the anchor.
