Load capacity is the honest measure of a bench, and this one takes 400 pounds across a 46.5 inch seat. A full steel underframe and an extra thick cross-brace sit beneath the high density foam cushion, with blue-grey boucle covering the part that gets sat on.
The maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds comes from a full steel underframe rather than from the cushion, so two adults can sit at the end of a bed or in an entryway without the frame flexing. That rating also covers the awkward loads a bench picks up: stacked laundry, luggage, a rolled mattress topper.
A cross-brace thicker than the usual stretcher ties the X-frame together underneath, which is what removes the sideways sway that long benches develop. The result stays square on a hard floor through the daily routine of sitting down to pull boots on and standing up again with weight on one end.
Textured boucle in a muted blue-grey keeps the palette neutral while giving the cushion something to look at up close. Against the matte black steel of the frame the fabric reads soft rather than heavily upholstered, which lets the bench work in a minimalist bedroom or a boho living room with equal ease.
Round coffee table 31.5 inches across with a rustic ashwood top and black steel legs crossing at midpoint.
Weathered multi-colored trunk, 29 inches long, closing with an anchor clasp over board games and blankets.
