Guest rooms rarely have a spare surface for a suitcase, and the floor means bending to unpack. This bamboo X-frame holds a bag at 21 inches on four black straps, with a lower shelf for shoes. It comes assembled and folds shut between visits.
Four black fabric straps span the bamboo uprights, spreading the weight of a packed case across the full 26-inch length instead of a single bar. Luggage sits level on them, hard shell or soft sided, and the straps give slightly under load, which keeps a heavy bag from rocking while clothes come in and out of it.
Below the straps a second tier drops into place for shoes, a folded coat, a toiletry bag, or the sundry items that otherwise collect on a nightstand. The shelf folds up with the rest of the X-frame, so the rack still collapses to a flat panel for a closet or the gap beside a dresser.
The rack comes put together, which means a guest room gets ready in the time it takes to open the frame and stand it up. Natural bamboo keeps the color light and the weight low, light enough to carry one-handed out of storage, and the pale grain sits easily beside painted furniture and neutral bedding.
Round coffee table 31.5 inches across with a rustic ashwood top and black steel legs crossing at midpoint.
Weathered multi-colored trunk, 29 inches long, closing with an anchor clasp over board games and blankets.
