Ten garments on ten hangers normally claim ten inches of rod. This frame gathers them into about the width of a single hanger by stacking the arms down a vertical bar, each one staggered so the clothes hang flatter instead of bunching against each other in a wedge.
The hanger carries ten arms, and each accepts an ordinary hanger, which compresses what used to be a ten-hanger stretch of rod into approximately one. In a closet where the bar is already full, that recovered width is the difference between hanging a coat and leaving it folded on a shelf.
