Slats of bamboo form the outer shell of this sorter, with two natural cotton bags hanging inside it and a lid closing over both. The lid is the difference: laundry stays out of sight in a bedroom or bathroom while the frame reads as a low wooden box 22.75 inches high.
A lid sits across the top of the frame and covers both compartments at once, so a pile that has grown through the week stops being part of the room. Closed, the flat surface also takes a folded stack or a basket while the machine runs in the next room.
The exterior is built from bamboo slats rather than solid panels, a construction that keeps the piece light and lets some air reach the cotton bags behind it. Bamboo is a renewable grass, and its pale grain works with oak floors, rattan, and the undyed linens common in a natural-material bedroom.
Both bags are natural cotton and both detach from the bamboo frame, which means a single category can be carried to the washer and the bag itself cleaned when it starts to hold a smell. Across a footprint of 23.5 by 15.75 inches, the two bays keep darks and whites apart from the start.
Single large canvas tote, 22 inches wide, with a vinyl-coated interior and long reinforced handles that clear a shoulder.
Folding bamboo drying rack with 11 dowels and a flat shelf for sweaters, opening to 29.25 inches wide.
